As the amalgamate voice of 9 regions that include 1200 churches, and 200,000 members, CBAmerica has a rich history of service to the Body of Christ.
By working together, the Regional centers are able to secure benefits for the churches. The following are some of the benefits that the local church can secure through CBAmerica.
• 501(c)(3) Non-profit Tax Exempt Status — This entitles churches affiliated with CBAmerica to receipt tax deductible gifts and contributions from donors (a copy of the IRS ruling can be found on our website).
• CB Northwest Retirement Income Account
Plan — This retirement plan is open to pastors and
employees of member churches that are affiliated
through CBAmerica regions. The Plan is a “403(b)
Plan” that has been specifically designed to meet the
retirement needs of the participants.
We would encourage you to visit our web page at www.cbamerica.org. There you can sign-up for our publication, Vital Signs and our email newsletter E-lation to receive the latest happenings of CBAmerica.
CBAmerica is a certified endorsing agency for chaplains. There are currently 200 CBA Chaplains serving in the military, law enforcement and institutional entities. Under the direction of Rev. Al Russell (chapruss@earthlink.net), this is a strong missionary force throughout our country and around the world.
Through our Day of Compassion
Ministry fund, pastors and church
staff members have access to funds
for times of financial emergencies
caused by illness and other difficulties.
When Hurricanes Katrina and Rita
devastated the Gulf Coast region
CBAmerica Churches responded with
concern, compassion and cash. This
past year we were able, through the
generosity of our regions and the
churches they represent, to help
churches and individuals who were
hard hit by these hurricanes with over
$600,000. In partnership with DELTA
Ministries we have supplied over 450
individuals with the materials to serve
on short-term missions teams to the
Louisiana and Alabama areas. Those
teams continue to rebuild homes and
hope as they demonstrate Christ’s love and share the
gospel with thousands of hurting individuals and families.
CBAmerica stands ready to assist the next time disaster strikes and regions, churches and individuals desire to be used of God to bring relief to those who have experienced loss and are suffering.
The scope of ministry opportunities
continues to expand as we
join with other CB National
Associations in CBGlobal. Our
past efforts of foreign missions
endeavors have produced other
National Associations of
churches, which are taking the
DNA of the initial CB movement to fulfill the evangelistic
focus of the Great Commission in new and exciting ways
around the increasingly strategic Pacific rim.
CBAmerica was officially launched in the
summer of 1947, four years after the formation
of the Conservative Baptist Foreign Mission Society
(now WorldVenture.) A strong commitment to
conserve biblical faith and Baptist polity and practice
was a core value to the founders.
To this day it maintains these convictions, coupled with a compelling vision to establish and maintain healthy churches that are focused on the Great Commission and fueled by the Great Commandment passion of our Lord. These two tracks of loving God supremely and making disciples of all people groups merge in the process of creating environments of grace and truth.
Today nine Regions embrace about 1200 churches of varying sizes and cultures. The Regional Directors are in a covenantal relationship with each other, as are the Regional Boards, with the purpose of accountable partnerships as they serve the local churches. In addition, CBAmerica is in partnership with the CBGlobal family of national CB entities.
Dr. Stephen LeBar has served as the National Director since the summer of 2004.
